Work Experience and Homestay
Take your English language learning to a whole new level. English Language Made Easy offers internships and placements in a variety of employment sectors. Choosing a volunteer work placement will give you the most valuable and formative experiences whilst enjoying the warmth
and hospitality of a host family. ELME guarantees continuous support and assistance for the entire duration of your stay.
Location
Students will be placed in the immediate locality of Cavan town and the surrounding countryside of County Cavan. This area is one of Ireland’s many charms, tucked away in beautiful Lakelands and green hills. This scenic and historic border county offers plenty of water sports, hiking, and great day trip excursions thanks to its proximity to the major cities of Dublin, Belfast, Kilkenny and Galway.
Work Sectors
We have established a network of different employment sectors locally with whom we have a personal and direct relationship. These sectors include:
RETAIL, HOSPITALITY ( RESTAURANTS, CAFES, PUBS AND HOTELS) CHILD CARE, SPORTS ANDLEISURE, AGRICULTURE, BEAUTY AND COSMETICS.
Each student will be given a work placement that caters to their individual language and career/ education requirements. ELME and our business associates are committed to making this the most formative and worthwhile experience for each student. Mentoring and job shadowing allow the student to gain valuable and rewarding practical work experience beneficial to their future. Each student will receive a certificate of participation and an evaluation feedback report from the host business. Students will be expected to follow and adhere to the business’s timetable, uniform and health and safety regulations.
Host Familes
Particular attention is given to selecting our host families. All host families are security/ police vetted and are known personally to our organization. We place immense emphasis on students feeling welcomed and cared for. Our families are committed to creating a “home from home” for the student. Families are encouraged to incorporate the student into their daily lives with outdoor activities, board games, baking, cooking, family occasions, trips, outings, or whatever they are used to doing as a family. However, work placement students can also have more autonomy to spend
their free time as they wish but should always confer with the family regarding their plans.
Our Promise
We promise to give each student the care and support they need to enjoy their time in Ireland and have the best and most rewarding experience possible. ELME will manage all logistical, administrative and organisational details for each student. We promise to oversee all timetables
and duties assigned to each student. Under no circumstances will work placement students have to carry out dangerous or extraordinary duties. We promise complete transparency and open communication between all parties.
